Manual of Diagnostic Tests and Vaccines for Terrestrial Animals 2008

In the chapter 2.08.01 of the OIE Manual of Standards for Diagnostic Tests and Vaccines, a general overview of the African Swine Fever is presented, followed by a detailed description of the recommended laboratory methods for the diagnosis of this disease.

As referred in the introduction of the OIE Manual, the information concerning diagnostics is given as an example; it is not always necessary to follow these when there are scientifically justifiable reasons for using alternative approaches (see chapters I.1.3 and I.1.4). Bibliographic references that provide further information are listed at the end of the chapter.
